An modern new website that the client could easily update along with a newsletter template.
I volunteer with the Catalysis re:action philanthropic group. We focus on a variety of community service projects such as neighborhood clean ups, blood donation, and holiday food/clothes drives. Last year we committed to helping a non profit out of West Seattle with our services. Transitional Resources offers full spectrum resources for mental health clients and they offer a variety of programs to help them. Their website needed some help so we committed to creating a fresh new look that they could update with ease and a newsletter template that would match their branding.
This project involved project managers, designers, and two front end devs.
The top screenshots are a comparison of the original and new homepage. Key points we wanted to improve upon were:
- Color: update to a more modern, friendly green
- Navigation: Condense pages. They had a lot of content but it was chunked out over several pages.
- Easily updatable
- Clear section for events
- Newsletter signup and contact form
The audience for the website is primarily to encourage donors to donate as well as provide resources for clients. The sticky navigation bar always displays the donate button. The green color is a more modern shade, there is a fully functional contact form, and an email newsletter signup that syncs with MailChimp. We are going to provide them with a documentation packet that guides them through updates. When they create a new post, categorization determines if it shows up on the home page or the events section.
The website is currently going through final QA and client approval, so it is not live yet. Link will be posted here when the new site is launched in February.
